Gameplay
The main concept behind Counter Strike 1.6 is that there are two teams, which fight against each other. There are terrorists (TT) and counter-terrorists (CT).
There are couple of game scenarios depending on the chosen map.
Some maps require that counter terrorists to rescue hostages( This game scenario usually happens on maps with prefix cs_ like cs_assault, cs_italy, cs_estate.
However there are maps, where terrorists have to plant a bomb within the CT base or counter-terrorist need to prevent the terrorist team from planting the c4 or if is planted CT team has a limited time of 20 seconds to defuse the bomb ( this game scenario usually happens on maps with prefrix de_ like de_dust2, de_inferno, de_nuke,de_train.
Besides playing counter-strike 1.6 online, you can create your own server as well.
You can also play counter-strike offline, just select new game and add some bots, which control the rest of your teammates and rivals, and start your own dedicated server and play and train with counter strike 1.6 bots. This is recommended for players who are new to the Game.
Weapons and Equipment
Counter-Strike 1.6 features 28 weapons divided into seven classes: pistols, shotguns, submachine guns, rifles, machine guns, grenades, and a knife. The game also has equipment that enhances the player or adds additional abilities to him in combat.
Weapons and equipment can be bought for a limited time in a specially designated area, which on most maps is located at the place where the teams spawn. If the player is within this zone, then a green basket indicator is displayed on the screen. The purchase menu is designed as a two-stage graphical interface: at the first stage, it is proposed to select a weapon class, at the second - a weapon from this class.
The player has five slots available for weapons and active equipment: the main weapon, which includes rifles, submachine guns, shotguns, and a machine gun, and the secondary weapon, a pistol, knife, grenades, and a bomb on maps with the Bomb Defuse scenario. Each round after death, the player starts with a knife and a pistol, which is different for each of the teams: "Special Forces" starts with USP, and "Terrorists" with Glock. Any weapon other than a knife and grenades can be thrown to the ground, making it available for pickup by players on both their own and the enemy team.
Teams
Counter-Strike 1.6 has two teams, "Terrorists" and "Special Forces", each with four playable characters. The differences between the characters are only cosmetic: they look different, but do not have any differences in terms of playability. Real-life military units from around the world are used as special forces, but fictional groups are used for terrorists. The game has two sets of character models: normal and HD, which can be switched between in the video settings menu.
